The City of New Bedford presents: CIVIL WAR WEEKEND August 13,14,15 2004   The 2nd annual celebration of living history was another success. Over the 3 days in August 2004 a record crowd was both educated and entertained by such period activities as : Cannon fire and artillery drills Southern garrisoning at Fort Rodman Federal landings and assaults on southern-held Fort Rodman Medical demonstrations and era civilian participation US black troops and their contribution to the war effort Settlers' Markets and historical displays Tours of historic Fort Taber Opening of the new Fort Taber Military Museum.   See some pictures of the events here.   Thank You for making Civil War Weekend 2004 a success !!
